Masseria by Nicholas Stefanelli a critically acclaimed, Southern Italian, fine dining restaurant in the Union Market District of Washington D.C. Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hospitality service 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in high-volume bartending.
  • Advanced knowledge of Italian wines and regions
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, accounting software, and POS system(s)

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServSafe and TIPS Certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Successfully work as a team player while overseeing and assisting the entire front of the house team with all aspects of service
  • Recommending and navigating an extensive wine list with over 150 Greek selections 
  • Assisting with monthly inventory
  • Assist  with ordering, restocking, and organizing wine cellar/bar
  • Support in promoting and coordinating educational events for the public.
  • Selling and serving food and beverages to guest at the bar 
  • Mix beverages in a fast paced work environment
  • Be accountable for paperwork at the end of shift 
  • Communicate wine, liquor, and beer knowledge based on guests preferences/requests
  • Greet guests warmly, making eye contact
  • Provide guests with a premier dining experience
  • Be accountable of bar by restocking, organizing, and maintaining cleanliness 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods 
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs occasionally
  • All employees are to maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance (specifics will be provided) 
  • Ability to stand for long periods (8 hours or more)
